Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent with a strong background in civil and site work to oversee the first phase of a significant project. This phase primarily involves site work, and we are looking for someone who can effectively manage and coordinate activities to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
Direct the day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and their sub-contractors to ensure high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule.
Develop, document, and communicate the work plan regarding changes made in the field.
Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to proactively anticipate potential problems.
Obtain or verify that subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposes.
Establish credibility among owners, trade contractors, unions, and other project partners by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment.
Act as the primary safety representative in the field and enforce safety compliance with all trades.
Lead contractor meetings on a regular basis.
Maintain daily reports and documentation using software tools.
Create, manage, and update the project schedule, creating and implementing contingency plans when necessary.
Communicate schedule status, updates, and changes to the project team and trade contractors.
Plan, coordinate, and manage jobsite logistics.
Develop the Quality in Construction (QIC) plan in partnership with the Operations Excellence team, oversee the plan and implement necessary changes.
Communicate with Site Services/Next 150 to order materials and schedule crew.
Train direct report Field Engineers and Superintendents on project needs, construction knowledge, and business acumen.
Review and support writing scopes of work and participate in buyout.
Assist in Time and Materials (T&M) tracking.
Lead stretch and flex, daily huddle, and pre-task plan reviews.
Assist in general requirements financial forecasting.
Collaborate closely with business development to ensure seamless integration with sales strategies including performance metrics on assigned projects, pursuits, and client deliverables.
Actively participate in opportunities to strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships.
Train direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks.
Manage workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members.
Aid in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports.
May be required to assist with tasks typically assigned to more junior positions.

Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position located in a field trailer environment with a downtown Syracuse office available. The role requires approximately 50 hours of work per week, with shifts from 1 PM to 10 PM. The position includes a rotating schedule with some Saturday shifts. The work is part of a large-scale project covering 680 acres, involving land clearing, mass grading, utility and infrastructure development, roadways, soil replacement, and security infrastructure. The role may require travel within a set rate structure based on position level.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $79.00/hr.
