Description

Robert Half is looking for an experienced Attorney to support a nonprofit organization on a contract basis. This part time role is 8-10 hours per week and is 100% remote. This opportunity focuses on providing practical legal guidance for a range of commercial and organizational agreements, with an emphasis on careful review, negotiation strategy, and clear risk assessment. The person in this role will help business partners address contract-related issues efficiently while maintaining strong legal and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including matters involving detailed or highly customized legal terms.

Mark up contract language, propose revisions, and refine documents to align with organizational needs and risk tolerance.

Provide legal counsel on contract interpretation, obligations, and potential exposure tied to proposed terms.

Support stakeholders by answering escalated legal questions related to agreements, negotiations, and contract structure.

Develop and revise contractual provisions for new arrangements, including third-party agreements and sub-recipient terms where applicable.

Partner with internal teams to resolve complex negotiation issues and help move agreements through review in a timely manner.

Identify legal concerns within contract language and recommend practical solutions that balance protection with business objectives.

Requirements

Licensed attorney in good standing or JD

5+ years of experience handling contracts in a legal practice or in-house environment.

Strong background in commercial contract review, drafting, and negotiation.

Demonstrated ability to perform redlining and revise legal documents with precision.

Sound judgment in assessing legal risk and explaining contract implications to non-legal stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple agreement reviews and respond effectively to time-sensitive matters.
