Medical Scheduler / Insurance Verification

Job Description

Obtains insurance information, referral forms, and counsels patients on financial assistance over the phone.

Schedules and registers patients over the phone or by email, with no patient contact.

Communicates with physicians and clinical staff to assist with scheduling urgent or referred patient scheduling calls/requests.

Provides patient scheduling services to include collecting demographics and insurance registration.

Calls patients with appointment time reminders, obtains insurance information, and referral forms.

Process the internal physician referral for clinical care.

Explains billing process to patients, answers incoming inquiries from patients and third-party payers.

Assists patients with insurance questions regarding the billing process.

Work Environment

Onsite Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30 PM

Office setting, not patient-facing

Qualifications

2+ years of Medical Scheduling experience

1 year of insurance verification preferred

Demonstrated interpersonal skills and working knowledge of insurance and financial options. (2+ years)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $27.00/hr.
