Job Summary
Step into a high-impact operations leadership role where your expertise directly strengthens plasma collection center performance across the network. The Center Operations Manager provides hands-on operational leadership and specialized support to plasma collection centers, serving as an interim Center Manager when needed, supporting corporate operations initiatives, and contributing to the successful launch of new centers. This role operates within FDA current Good Manufacturing Practice (21 CFR) requirements and EU Good Practice Guidelines, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a consistent donor-focused experience across all assigned locations.
What you'll do
Provide temporary, on-site operational leadership to plasma collection centers to address performance gaps, compliance risks, or leadership vacancies
Serve as Interim Center Manager when required, overseeing daily operations including production, quality performance, staffing, equipment readiness, and plasma inventory management
Support new plasma collection center development, including equipment installation and qualification, staff recruitment, leadership training, and opening and 90-day ramp-up activities
Execute and support corporate operations projects focused on continuous improvement, including SOP updates, training initiatives, inventory optimization, and investigations
Oversee daily operational readiness, including opening and closing procedures, alarm system response, donor fund handling, and center documentation
Ensure reception, plasma, and donor areas are fully stocked and prepared to meet daily and next-day production needs
Maintain and review required operational reports, logs, and records, including production, payroll, inventory, quality control, and donor documentation
Identify operational issues and risks, escalate irregularities appropriately, and drive corrective actions to resolution
Manage donor incidents, including reactions, red cell loss, over- or under-draws, and behavioral concerns, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up
Support donor recruitment strategies and resolve donor and customer complaints to improve satisfaction and retention
Ensure all center activities comply with company SOPs, FDA regulations, EU Good Practice Guidelines, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory standards
Direct, train, and support center staff to maintain quality assurance procedures and consistent daily operations
Monitor specialty program utilization and ensure effective use of required tools and checklists
Partner with Center Managers on hiring, training, scheduling, performance documentation, and maintaining complete and current personnel records
Support staffing coverage for medical roles, including Center Physicians and substitutes, as needed
Maintain fiscally responsible operations aligned with cGMP, Quality Assurance Programs, and housekeeping standards
Oversee reactive unit test results, unit disposition, and associated documentation, including NAT testing and Viral Marker standards
Model professional customer service behaviors and reinforce a respectful, donor-focused culture
Promote company values and maintain a safe, compliant, and supportive work environment
Perform additional operational duties as assigned to support center and organizational needs
Qualifications and need-to-know
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered
Previous experience as a plasma collection Center Manager required
Knowledge of plasma operations and related business processes preferred
Working knowledge of cGMP/21 CFR and EU Good Practice Guidelines preferred
Current CPR certification as required by applicable state regulations
Ability to travel at least 75% of working time, including overnight travel, to plasma collection centers and company locations
