Operations Manager - Production & Manufacturing
We are partnering with a growing, capital-backed manufacturing organization that is expanding into a larger facility and investing heavily in operational excellence. This is a high-impact role where you'll help drive efficiency, implement LEAN initiatives, and shape processes during an exciting growth phase.
Location: Ronkonkoma, NY (On-site)
Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 + Benefits
Position Overview
The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day production and manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency across labor, productivity, and quality control. This individual will drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize workflows, manage inventory and equipment, and play a key role in enhancing the overall customer experience. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about process improvement and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead overall production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and productivity targets are met
Manage workforce planning, scheduling, and day-to-day supervision of staff
Recruit, train, coach, and develop employees in accordance with company policies
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including LEAN manufacturing practices
Analyze workflows, space utilization, and equipment layout; implement process enhancements
Oversee inventory management, receiving, equipment utilization, and shipping operations
Forecast materials and support production planning for incoming orders
Act as primary point of contact for customer-related production or quality issues
Collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve issues and improve service delivery
Issue RMAs and generate customer quotes as needed
Partner with vendors to ensure timely delivery and resolve supply chain issues
Participate in annual budgeting and cost control activities
Approve employee hours, manage staffing levels, and oversee compensation-related actions
Lead ISO-related training initiatives and ensure compliance standards are met
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and program management teams
Required Qualifications
5-10 years of operational management experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Strong background in operations management, production, and continuous improvement
Proven leadership experience in managing teams, performance, and productivity
Experience with inventory management, equipment utilization, and shipping/receiving processes
Ability to analyze workflows and implement process improvements
Strong communication skills with experience interacting with customers, vendors, and internal teams
Experience handling customer issues related to quality and service
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field)
Experience in LEAN manufacturing environments
background working in engineering-driven production settings
Familiarity with ISO standards and training programs
Exposure to program management and cross-functional initiatives

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
