Our client is the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) and they are seeking a Computer Support Specialist. This is a temporary position (W2 Only) in New York, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual. The contract is expected to last 2 years. This position in IN-OFFICE, so you must commute to Lower Manhattan - near Battery Park.

Position Details - Computer Support Specialist

Location: NYC/Lower Manhattan - near Battery Park

Hours:9:00am-5:00pm (Mon-Fri); some OT and Holidays may be required.

Duration:2-Year Contract (W-2 Only)

Pay Range: $26-30/hr Depending on experience

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focusedComputer Support Specialist. This role is responsible for providing technical assistance, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring a smooth technology experience for end-users. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:

Minimum oftwo (2) years of experiencein Information Technology and Customer Service

Bachelor's Degree in one of the following (or a closely related field):

Computer Science

Information Systems

Management Information Systems

Information Technology

Cybersecurity

Proof ofeligibility to work in New York State

Provide Resume AND Cover Letter

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Provide technical support to users via phone, email, chat, and in-person interactions

Monitor, manage, and resolve tickets using the JIRA ticketing system

Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and peripheral devices

Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues

Document technical issues, resolutions, and create user guides or knowledge base articles

Support IT operations and perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Expertise:

Solid understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and networking concepts

Problem-Solving Skills:

Strong analytical abilities to identify issues and determine effective solutions

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users

Customer Service Orientation:

Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to user satisfaction

Organizational Skills:

Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple requests, and maintain accurate documentation

Adaptability:

Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
