The Director, Information Systems & Technology is responsible for leading the organization's information systems strategy, data infrastructure, application development, and technology initiatives. This role serves as the bridge between program operations and technology solutions, ensuring systems are optimized to support service delivery, regulatory compliance, reporting requirements, and organizational growth.
The Director oversees Graham Windham's information architecture, custom application development, database systems, and third-party platforms while managing technology projects, vendor relationships, cybersecurity efforts, and data governance practices. This position partners closely with program leadership and cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions that improve efficiency, strengthen reporting capabilities, and advance the agency's mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Information Systems & Data Infrastructure
Lead the maintenance, enhancement, and strategic development of Graham Windham's information architecture, databases, ETL processes, and data systems.
Ensure data is structured efficiently and effectively to support operational needs, program outcomes, and organizational reporting.
Partner with Program Performance & Planning and other stakeholders to develop reporting solutions and data analytics capabilities.
Oversee the creation of ad hoc reports and dashboards to support agency decision-making.
Supervise the Database Developer and Data Engineer, ensuring high-quality system performance and data integrity.
Liaison to IT Outsourcing Company (FairDinkum)
Application Development & System Administration
Design, develop, and maintain custom applications that support agency operations and program delivery.
Lead the transition of existing InfoPath applications to Microsoft Power Apps.
Manage ongoing enhancements and optimization of agency-specific applications, workflows, and business processes.
Collaborate with program leaders to maximize the effectiveness of third-party systems, including myEvolv and other enterprise applications.
Foster Care Systems & Compliance
Oversee foster care data management processes within myEvolv.
Ensure accurate and timely generation of SSPS claims and foster parent payroll data.
Supervise the Data Analyst and establish quality assurance processes to maintain data accuracy and compliance.
Technology Project Management
Lead technology projects from planning through implementation, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes.
Define project scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
Develop project plans, monitor milestones, and communicate progress to leadership and stakeholders.
Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Vendor & Technology Management
Manage relationships with software vendors, consultants, and technology partners.
Evaluate technology solutions and make recommendations that align with organizational needs and budget considerations.
Monitor vendor performance and contract deliverables.
Cybersecurity & Infrastructure
Support organizational cybersecurity efforts through risk assessment, system monitoring, and implementation of security best practices.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, security standards, and agency policies.
Oversee software upgrades, database administration, system integrations, and technology implementations.
Leadership & Strategic Planning
Provide leadership and supervision to technology and data staff.
Develop and implement technology strategies that support agency goals and long-term growth.
Foster collaboration between technology teams and program staff to ensure solutions meet operational needs.
Promote continuous improvement and innovation across technology systems and processes.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience managing information systems, data infrastructure, technology projects, and enterprise applications.
Demonstrated experience supervising technical staff and managing cross-functional initiatives.
Strong understanding of database architecture, system integrations, application development, and data governance.
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, SQL, and enterprise case management or ERP/CRM systems.
Experience managing technology vendors, budgets, and organizational technology projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management training.
Experience within the nonprofit, human services, healthcare, or social services sector.
Familiarity with myEvolv or similar case management platforms.
Experience implementing Power Apps and workflow automation solutions.
