Role Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Prevailing Wage & Union Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws while accurately managing payroll for union and prevailing wage projects. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll experience, a solid understanding of labor regulations, and excellent analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Certified Payroll Processing: Prepare and submit certified payroll reports, including employee classifications, hourly rates, and fringe benefits, ensuring full compliance with prevailing wage requirements.

Union Reporting & Compliance: Maintain current union wage, benefit, and assessment rates. Reconcile and submit monthly union reports and dues accurately and on time.

Prevailing Wage Compliance: Monitor project compliance with Davis-Bacon and related regulations. Verify employee classifications and review subcontractor payroll submissions for accuracy and compliance.

Fringe Benefit Administration: Calculate, track, and allocate fringe benefits for both prevailing wage and union projects.

Payroll Processing: Review and validate payroll to ensure proper prevailing wage payments in accordance with contract requirements and applicable regulations.

Regulatory Compliance: Stay current on federal, state, and local prevailing wage and union requirements, ensuring organizational compliance at all times.

Data Management & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and organized payroll records, including timesheets, wage determinations, and employee classifications.

Reporting: Prepare and submit required reports to government agencies, including certified payroll documentation.

Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries related to payroll and compliance.

Employee Support: Address employee questions related to payroll, prevailing wage, and union-related matters.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with administrative staff, project coordinators, and general contractors to ensure all projects meet compliance requirements.

Special Projects: Support or lead special initiatives such as disaster planning, system implementations, and training programs.

Qualifications

3 to 5 years Prevailing Wage and Union Payroll Experience

1 to 3 years multi-state payroll experience

CPP or FPC Certification a plus

Construction payroll experience a plus

Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably within construction, prevailing wage, or union enviro
