Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Job Description
This role is responsible for coordinating the end-to-end shipping and receiving process to support smooth production and distribution operations. You will place and track orders, verify deliveries, and maintain accurate inventory and shipment records. By keeping detailed daily logs and collaborating closely with production and warehouse teams, you will help ensure materials are available on time and inventory remains accurate.
Responsibilities
Initiate, place, and manage orders with suppliers and carriers to ensure timely material availability.
Monitor shipping statuses on an ongoing basis and proactively resolve transportation delays or issues.
Inspect and audit incoming deliveries to verify that all ordered items are received in full, accurately, and without damage.
Maintain and update daily shipment tracking sheets to reflect active and pending shipments.
Track and monitor open purchase orders, including current PO status and any outstanding items.
Record and update daily sales and distribution metrics to support production and planning decisions.
Collaborate with plant and warehouse teams to align incoming shipments with current inventory levels and production needs.
Perform inventory control activities, including cycle counts and reconciliation of physical stock with system records.
Support warehouse inventory organization to ensure materials are stored correctly and easy to locate.
Use computer systems and Excel to enter, update, and maintain accurate data related to inventory, shipments, and orders.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to resolve discrepancies and provide shipment or inventory updates.
Provide responsive customer service to internal stakeholders regarding order status, delivery timing, and inventory availability.
Essential Skills
Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse or production environment.
Proficiency in inventory control and inventory management, including cycle counts and stock reconciliation.
Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain detailed shipment, order, and inventory records.
Strong computer skills, including the ability to work with spreadsheets and basic office software.
Working knowledge of Excel for tracking shipments, open purchase orders, and daily reports.
Experience with warehouse inventory practices and basic supply chain concepts.
Effective communication skills to coordinate with production, warehouse, suppliers, and carriers.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple orders and logs simultaneously.
Customer service mindset when supporting internal teams and responding to inquiries.
Ability to work safely around warehouse equipment, including forklifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Exerience in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, or a related function.
Experience working in a production environment with time-sensitive material requirements.
Comfort working with shipment tracking tools and inventory management systems.
Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in orders, deliveries, and inventory records.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing shipping or delivery issues.

Work Environment
This position is based in a production environment that includes active warehouse and plant operations. You will work around inventory storage areas, shipping and receiving docks, and material handling equipment such as forklifts. The role follows a first-shift schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will use computers and Excel regularly to manage data and reports, and you should be comfortable working in a setting where you may need to move between office and warehouse areas and follow standard safety and attire guidelines appropriate for a production facility.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
