Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Description
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy industrial machinery and plant equipment, including aluminum extrusion presses and auxiliary systems.
Perform troubleshooting on PLC-controlled equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and related industrial systems.
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, code requirements, service manuals, and manufacturers' specifications to plan and execute repairs.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and complete repairs or improvements as needed to minimize unplanned downtime.
Maintain an electronic backlog of work requests and work orders in coordination with maintenance planners.
Conduct maintenance safety program audits, including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fall Protection, PPE, and mobile equipment safety practices.
Apply knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits, PLCs, wire installation and termination, combustion, power distribution, process control computers, conduit threading and bending, AC and DC drives, and welding in daily work.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, controls, and PLC-related issues, with a focus on effective root cause analysis.
Support and enforce the elements of ISO 9001 as they apply to the maintenance department.
Utilize Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to document work, communicate with team members, and support maintenance planning activities.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 4+ years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy industrial machinery, including plant equipment, piping systems, and fluid power systems.
Broad industrial maintenance background covering electrical/PLC, robotics, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, machining, and conveyor systems.
Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment issues independently, beyond simply replacing parts.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting aluminum extrusion presses and auxiliary equipment, including PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and motors.
Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits, PLCs, wire installation and termination, combustion, power distribution, electronics, process control computers, conduit threading and bending, AC and DC drives, and welding.
Demonstrated experience performing preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on industrial equipment.
Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, schematics, code requirements, service manuals, and manufacturers' specifications.
Extensive experience in industrial maintenance environments, specifically with large and complex equipment rather than only small machinery or basic conveyor systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Willingness and ability to work a 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. night shift on a rotating schedule, including any day of the week.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with PLC troubleshooting, with strong preference for familiarity with Rockwell software.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing concepts and practices (preferred).
Knowledge of OSHA requirements and their application within an industrial maintenance environment (preferred).
Experience promoting, supporting, and enforcing ISO 9001 elements within a maintenance department.
Millwright background with strong mechanical aptitude and experience in cutting, burning, and multiple @types of welding (such as MIG or stick on carbon).
background in third-party industrial maintenance services is beneficial.
Interest in future advancement into a PLC-focused role is a plus, especially for candidates with strong PLC and Rockwell experience.

Work Environment
The facility is a heavy industrial manufacturing environment that can be hot, dusty, and loud at times, and it requires strict adherence to safety practices such as Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fall Protection, PPE, and mobile equipment procedures. You will work directly with industrial machinery, aluminum extrusion presses, and associated electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The role involves regular use of tools, diagnostic equipment, and computer systems, including Microsoft Office and maintenance software, in a setting that emphasizes safety, reliability, and continuous operation.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
