Job Description
The Plant Accountant manages and supports all plant financial activities, including financial reporting, cash management, and annual operating plan (AOP) processes. This role provides accurate financial and statistical data to plant and corporate leadership, enabling timely and informed decision-making. The Plant Accountant partners closely with various corporate functions and operates within a multi-functional, global organizational structure while reporting to the operations finance leadership team.
Responsibilities
Manage and support all plant accounting activities related to financial reporting, cash management, and the annual operating plan (AOP).
Prepare, analyze, and maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
Support the preparation and review of financial statements and plant-level financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure proper recording, tracking, and resolution of transactions.
Contribute to forecasting activities, including analysis of trends and variances, to support operational and financial planning.
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring compliance with internal policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Identify, recommend, and help implement process improvements within plant accounting and reporting activities.
Provide clear, data-driven financial and statistical insights to leadership to support operational and strategic decisions.
Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams, including operations and corporate finance, to support plant performance and financial goals.
Essential Skills
3+ years of related accounting or finance experience.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Hands-on experience with accounting functions such as general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliation, and month-end close.
Experience in financial reporting and preparation of financial statements.
Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Experience with forecasting and balance sheet analysis.
Proficiency with SAP.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
CPA or CMA experience preferred.
Manufacturing or chemical industry experience preferred.
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility and follows a standard Monday through Friday schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Plant Accountant works closely with operations and corporate teams in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment that values collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Daily work involves extensive use of SAP and Microsoft Office tools for analysis, reporting, and communication.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $41.00/hr.
