POSITION OVERVIEW

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accepts customer payments, makes change and processes payments through the cashiering system. Balances daily money collections on cashiering system. Reconciles all cash, checks and credits cards to summary reports. Acts as a source of information to the public including the initial research and resolution of citizen's problems. Prints, retrieves and distributes a variety of reports from the cashiering system. Performs other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is physically comfortable with occasional periods of stooping, bending and/or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds.
This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier III Level.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through the attainment of a high school diploma or a GED.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
One year of money handling experience is required.

PREFERENCES
Preference may be given to applicants who possess a working proficiency with ILMS (Integrated Land Management System) and iNovah software.
Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
