Job Description
The Sales Engineer / Regional Sales Manager delivers an exceptional customer experience while driving revenue growth within an assigned territory. This role focuses on developing new business, expanding existing accounts, and managing the full sales cycle from lead generation through closing. The position combines consultative selling with hands-on product demonstrations, on-site walk-throughs, and operational training to ensure customers fully understand and benefit from the solutions offered. The successful candidate consistently meets or exceeds sales targets while building strong, long-term customer relationships across a geographic territory.
Responsibilities
Build and expand a strong customer base by developing new accounts and growing existing relationships within the assigned territory.
Plan and execute daily sales activities to maximize market coverage and revenue opportunities.
Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and on-site walk-throughs to showcase solutions and drive customer engagement.
Prepare and deliver accurate, timely quotes using product literature and established pricing guidelines.
Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation, prospecting, qualification, negotiation, and closing.
Identify customer needs and tailor sales presentations to align with different industries, sales channels, and customer @types, including dealerships and fleet customers.
Investigate and resolve customer concerns, providing effective solutions, recommendations, and follow-up.
Provide operational and mechanical training to end users as needed to ensure proper use of products and solutions.
Collaborate with internal teams to achieve organizational goals and improve overall customer satisfaction.
Set and manage appointments with prospects and existing customers to maintain a strong sales pipeline.
Perform business development calls and cold calling to generate new opportunities and expand market presence.
Manage relationships with dealerships and other key accounts, ensuring consistent communication and support.
Leverage Microsoft Office tools to prepare proposals, reports, presentations, and sales documentation.
Maintain a high level of technical and product knowledge to support consultative selling and customer education.
Demonstrate strong decision making, planning, organization, and cost awareness in all sales activities.
Essential Skills
3-5 years of sales experience, preferably in a technical or product-driven environment.
Strong customer service mindset with a consultative sales approach.
Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in an outside sales or territory-based role.
Demonstrated skills in prospecting, negotiating, and closing business.
Ability to effectively manage a geographic territory and plan daily sales activities.
Strong presentation skills, including the ability to deliver compelling product demonstrations and training.
Effective follow-up skills to maintain engagement and move opportunities through the sales funnel.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including creating and managing documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.
Experience with outside sales, inside sales, and account management.
Experience in fleet sales (such as heavy trucks and related equipment) and selling to dealerships.
Comfort with cold calling, business development calls, and setting appointments.
Persistent, self-motivated, and results-driven approach to achieving sales goals.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
Solid communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage customers and internal stakeholders.
Ability to identify customer needs, solve problems, and provide effective solutions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in automotive sales, fleet sales, or related technical product sales is highly beneficial.
Experience in sales operations or sales support is an advantage.
Ability to deliver operational and mechanical training to end users.
Demonstrated decision making and judgment in complex sales situations.
Strong planning and organization skills to manage multiple accounts and activities.

Work Environment
This role operates in a field-based, territory-focused environment that requires extensive travel, up to 100% of the time, to visit customers, dealerships, and other partners. The position involves frequent on-site customer visits, product demonstrations, and walk-throughs in environments such as dealerships, fleet yards, and automotive or equipment-related facilities. The work schedule centers around customer needs and sales opportunities, requiring flexibility in planning appointments, business development calls, and follow-up meetings. The role relies on standard business technology, including Microsoft Office, for preparing quotes, presentations, and reports. The work setting emphasizes a consultative, customer-focused culture where building long-term relationships, delivering high-quality service, and achieving sales results are central to success.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
