Field Service Technician - Industrial Equipment & Automation Division

Job Description:

Miller Welding Automation is looking for a qualified Flexible/Fixed Robotic Field Service Technician who can provide excellent customer service while troubleshooting robotic/collaborative welding systems and providing application assistance during robotic welding system installs.

How you will make an impact :

Handling phone calls relating to the service, repair, and application of the product

Create service reports

Repair and testing of robotic welding equipment in the field

Communicate via phone and online platforms to troubleshoot remotely with collaborative robot customers

Support the marketing and training teams with content development (e.g. troubleshooting or "How-To" videos) to improve customer experience

Travel to customer locations for technical support, repairs and installations of robotic welding systems

40-70% travel could be required

Utilization of good oral and written communication skills to work professionally with customers within the guidelines of Miller Welding Automation

Candidates will be required to live in the Chicago Metropolitan region.

This job requires the individual to work and solve problems with little or no immediate supervision

Qualifications :

Associate Degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent experience in service, trouble shooting, or "Break/Fix" situations.

Strength in customer service with demonstrated troubleshooting skills required

Welding systems product knowledge is a plus

Good computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office

Candidate must be willing to travel when necessary; at times this could be short notice

Must be a self-starter, proactive, a good team player, and possess the ability to make independent decisions and follow through to completion

Good communication and listening skills are extremely important

Compensation Information:

27.00 - 36.50 USD Hourly
