Job Title: Construction Helper
Job Description
The Construction Helper supports carpenters and other trades by performing general labor tasks, material handling, and basic construction activities in an outdoor, industrial environment. This role involves crating and uncrating pallets, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and assisting with a wide range of construction duties while working closely with an experienced team.
Responsibilities
Crate and uncrate pallets safely and efficiently, ensuring materials remain organized and protected.
Perform basic cleanup duties, including debris removal, sweeping, and maintaining a tidy and safe work area.
Assist carpenters and other tradespeople with general construction tasks as directed.
Deliver and move water jugs weighing up to 40 lbs and other materials as needed throughout the job site.
Handle general labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and moving construction materials and equipment.
Use hand and power tools to support installation, assembly, demolition, and other construction-related activities.
Measure materials accurately using a tape measure to support cutting, installation, and layout tasks.
Support landscaping and exterior site work as needed, including working on uneven terrain and in outdoor conditions.
Follow all site safety procedures and participate in a very safety-focused environment, including buddy system training.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete tasks on time and according to project requirements.
Care for and properly use personal tools required for the role, ensuring they are maintained and available on site.
Adapt to changing job duties and assist with various construction and production tasks as projects progress.
Essential Skills
At least 1 year of construction experience in a general labor, helper, or similar role.
Ability to lift at least 35 lbs and regularly handle items up to 40 lbs safely.
Experience working with basic hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, and wrenches.
Comfort using power tools for basic construction, installation, assembly, and demolition tasks.
Ability to work outdoors with limited shade for extended periods.
Basic proficiency using a tape measure and reading measurements accurately.
Previous experience in construction, production, installation, assembly, demolition, landscaping, loading, or general labor.
Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a highly safety-conscious environment.
Reliability to work early morning shifts and maintain consistent attendance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
OSHA 10 training is preferred; training will be provided if not already obtained.
Previous experience moving materials using rigging or a forklift, or similar material-handling experience, is helpful.
Comfort performing basic construction job duties in an industrial campus setting.
Ownership of mandatory personal tools, including: claw hammer; plastic or rubber hammer; vise grips; wrench set (3/8" to 7/8" combination/socket); flat screwdrivers (3/16, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2); Phillips screwdrivers (#2 and #3); side cutters (tin snips); 8" level; 25'-30' tape measure; crescent wrench; 10" channel lock pliers; combination square; assorted Allen set (1/8" through 3/8"); flat bar; and a lockable plastic toolbox with lock.
Willingness to learn multiple construction trades through on-the-job training.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team with good communication and cooperation.

Work Environment
This role is based on a large industrial campus environment and requires working primarily outdoors with limited shade. The standard schedule is approximately 50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with an early 3:30 a.m. start time and regular overtime. Work is physically active and takes place on a busy construction site, involving frequent use of hand and power tools, material handling, and general labor tasks. Safety is a core focus, with a very structured safety culture and buddy system training. The environment is collaborative and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on supporting one another to complete work safely and efficiently.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
