Job Title: Lead Machine Operator
Job Description
The Lead Machine Operator provides hands-on manufacturing support by leading and supervising production activities, ensuring products meet specifications, coordinating workflow according to the production schedule, and supporting day-to-day operations within the department. This role also assists the supervisor with daily tasks, including distributing work assignments and guiding team members to maintain quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise machine operators and production staff within the department to ensure smooth daily operations.
Coordinate workflow and follow the production schedule to meet output and delivery targets.
Oversee machine setup and operation to ensure products are produced according to specifications and quality standards.
Pass out and communicate daily work assignments to team members, ensuring clarity of expectations and priorities.
Use measurement instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to verify product dimensions and quality.
Review and follow documentation and work instructions to maintain accurate production and quality records.
Support occasional decision-making regarding the quality of the product produced and escalate issues when necessary.
Work in different areas of the department as needed and learn new job skills to support flexible operations.
Collaborate effectively in a group setting and foster a cooperative team environment.
Utilize computer applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and email, for documentation, communication, and reporting.
Support training efforts by sharing knowledge and helping less experienced team members when needed.
Adhere to all safety, cleanliness, and organizational standards in a clean, controlled manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
This is a first-shift position with hours from 6:45 a.m. to 3:05 p.m., Monday through Friday. The facility is fully air-conditioned, clean, and well-organized, with each room functioning as a dedicated department. The environment maintains a consistently comfortable, cool temperature regardless of outside weather. Work is primarily performed in a clean room or similarly controlled setting, using production machinery, grinding equipment, and precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Employees use computers with applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel for documentation and communication. The role involves standing for portions of the shift with the ability to sit at times, and it follows a structured, organized workflow with a focus on cleanliness, safety, and precision.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
