Job Title: Stockroom Clerk
Job Description
This Stockroom Clerk position based in Ontario, CA plays a key role in managing materials throughout a manufacturing facility. You will receive, store, and distribute parts and raw materials, maintain accurate inventory records in an MRP/ERP database, and support production by ensuring work orders are filled accurately and on time. Depending on your experience level, you may also provide leadership, training, and mentoring to other stockroom team members.
1st Shift : 6am - 2:30pm
Responsibilities
Receive incoming parts, raw materials, and shipments from production, receiving, engineering, and other departments, as well as external carriers, and route materials to the correct destinations.
Verify incoming goods for correct counts, packaging, and condition before placing them into appropriate storage locations.
Accurately pull materials from inventory shelves and containers to fulfill work order requirements and deliver them to production and assembly areas.
Fill work orders completely and accurately, and release shortage-free work orders to the assembly and production areas.
Process outgoing shipments using safe and proper packaging techniques, following sales order packing slips or planning tool instructions, and select the appropriate designated carrier.
Perform accurate and timely inventory transactions in the MRP/ERP database, ensuring flawless data entry and traceability of materials moving in and out of inventory.
Conduct daily cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
Maintain proper storage and packaging of materials to support the highest quality requirements.
Work closely with Engineering, Inspection, and Production teams to address and resolve any quality or material discrepancies.
Handle a variety of part sizes, from very small components requiring tweezers to items weighing up to 30 pounds, while maintaining care and accuracy.
Follow verbal and written directions, including planning and work order instructions, and translate them into accurate, timely actions.
Prioritize and complete multiple tasks and a high volume of work within deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and applicable laws established by the company and relevant authorities.
Perform other related stockroom, inventory, and shipping/receiving duties as assigned.
At higher levels (Level III and IV), manage material flow with minimal supervision, demonstrate strong process knowledge, and provide leadership, training, and mentoring to other stockroom clerks.
Essential Skills
Strong data entry skills with excellent attention to detail, particularly within an MRP/ERP database.
Ability to understand and work with various units of measure such as feet, inches, pounds, each, and roll.
Ability to regularly lift and move physical inventory weighing up to 30 pounds and handle very small parts, including those requiring tweezers.
Basic PC skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications and internet tools, with the ability to work in MRP/ERP systems and Excel.
English language skills sufficient to read, follow, and interpret planning documents and work order instructions.
Professional communication skills for effective collaboration via email, Microsoft Teams, and in-person interactions.
Ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Skill in following verbal and written directions and converting instructions into accurate actions.
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and manage a high volume of work to meet deadlines.
Commitment to following all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and applicable laws.
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in a warehouse, machine shop, or production environment.
Intermediate math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and working with fractions for print reading and tolerance determination.
Experience with inventory control, inventory management, and cycle counting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience using AS400 systems is a plus.
Previous experience working with MRP/ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
Comfort using communication tools such as email and Microsoft Teams to coordinate work.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision at higher responsibility levels.
Experience training or mentoring others in stockroom or inventory processes is beneficial.
Familiarity with safe and proper packaging techniques for outgoing shipments.
Experience in a standard manufacturing environment with exposure to production workflows.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
