Job Description
This full-time Construction Superintendent role oversees local tenant improvement and commercial build-out projects in the Minneapolis metro area, with no travel required. The position leads all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to high quality standards while maintaining strong communication with project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily on-site construction activities for tenant improvement and commercial build-out projects.
Supervise and coordinate subcontractor performance to ensure efficient and high-quality work.
Develop, manage, and adjust construction schedules to maintain project momentum and meet milestones.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve on-site issues to minimize delays and disruptions.
Enforce safety, compliance, and quality standards throughout all phases of construction.
Collaborate closely with clients, engineers, and project managers to align expectations and deliverables.
Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide field operations.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, logs, and progress updates.
Communicate clearly and consistently with all project stakeholders regarding status, changes, and expectations.
Lead and motivate on-site teams, promoting a productive, safe, and professional work environment.
Essential Skills
Proven experience in commercial construction supervision and tenant improvement projects.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and best practices.
Demonstrated experience with scheduling and coordination of construction activities.
In-depth understanding of construction safety protocols and compliance requirements.
Ability to read blueprints and accurately interpret construction specifications.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to direct and motivate on-site teams.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Experience in construction management, commercial construction, and general contractor operations.
Hands-on experience with construction supervision, subcontractor management, and quality control.
Knowledge of tenant improvement and retail construction environments.
OSHA 30 or comparable OSHA certification or related safety training.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, PlanGrid, or similar platforms.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced construction environments.
Previous week in coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors on active job sites.
Familiarity with retail build-outs and interior tenant improvement projects.
Work Environment
This role is based on active construction sites within the Minneapolis metro area and focuses on local tenant improvement and commercial build-out projects, eliminating the need for travel. The superintendent works primarily on-site, coordinating daily field operations and interacting regularly with subcontractors, project managers, engineers, and clients. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, requiring consistent presence on the job site, use of standard construction tools and equipment, and adherence to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards. Work hours typically align with standard construction schedules, with flexibility as needed to meet project milestones and address on-site issues.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis Park, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $60.00/hr.
