Job Description
This role focuses on the fabrication and installation of commercial wall and roofing panels, including insulated panels, aluminum composite systems, and single-skin panels. You will work in a sheet metal fabrication shop that produces custom flashing and metal systems such as gutters, downspouts, drip edge, and coping, and then install these components on commercial projects.
Responsibilities
Fabricate and install commercial wall and roofing panel systems, including insulated, aluminum composite, and single-skin panels.
Build and assemble custom sheet metal flashing and metal systems, including gutters, downspouts, drip edge, and coping.
Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to determine material requirements, dimensions, and installation methods.
Measure, cut, shape, and fit sheet metal components using appropriate hand and power tools.
Perform sheet metal installation tasks such as fastening, aligning, and securing panels and flashing to building structures.
Use riveting techniques and tools to join and secure sheet metal components safely and accurately.
Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications and standards.
Perform basic repairs and adjustments to sheet metal installations as needed.
Work safely on active construction sites, following all safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment.
Collaborate with diverse construction and installation teams to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Adapt to changing project needs, tasks, and priorities while maintaining high workmanship standards.
Essential Skills
Proven experience with sheet metal installation in a construction or similar environment.
Ability to read and work from blueprints and construction drawings.
Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, fastening, and installing sheet metal.
Hands-on experience with riveting and other fastening techniques for sheet metal.
Ability to lift 75+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, and working at heights.
Ability to work various hours and schedules based on project and site requirements.
Capability to work effectively as part of diverse teams on construction and installation projects.
Willingness and ability to learn new tasks, tools, and installation methods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in commercial construction or roofing environments.
Strong attention to detail to ensure precise measurements, cuts, and installations.
Solid understanding of basic construction practices and job site safety.
Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on installed sheet metal components.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $16.00/hr.
