Senior Accountant

Onsite - Thomaston, CT

$90,000 - $110,000 base + bonus

Direct Hire / Permanent Role

We are partnering with a global manufacturing organization to hire a Senior Accountant for their Thomaston, Connecticut facility. This role reports to the Plant Controller and plays a key part in supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and operational performance across multiple production units.

Key Responsibilities

Own balance sheet reconciliations (cash, fixed assets, liabilities, and other accounts), ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances

Support working capital initiatives including AP optimization, inventory reporting, and process improvements

Maintain strong internal controls and support audit readiness and compliance requirements

Manage and enhance cost accounting processes, including inventory valuation and manufacturing cost reporting

Provide detailed analysis on plant performance, cost drivers, and profitability

Assist with budgeting and forecasting cycles, including variance analysis and recommendations

Partner closely with Finance and Operations teams to strengthen cost control and continuous improvement initiatives

Contribute to a collaborative, hands-on plant finance environment

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of accounting experience with strong month-end close and related processes, ideally in a manufacturing environment

Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a cost-focused mindset

Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, plant-based environment

Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally

Self-starter with ability to work independently and take ownership
