Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support a high-tech pharm/biotech organization in Milford, Massachusetts. This Contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong invoice processing experience and can keep payment activities accurate, timely, and well organized. The person in this role will contribute to day-to-day accounts payable operations while also assisting with additional finance-related assignments as business needs evolve.

Responsibilities:

Review, code, and enter vendor invoices with accuracy and in accordance with established accounting guidelines.

Coordinate scheduled payment cycles, including preparation and execution of check runs and ACH transactions.

Verify invoice details, payment terms, and supporting documentation before processing for approval.

Maintain organized accounts payable records and ensure documentation is complete for audit and reporting purposes.

Communicate with internal departments and vendors to resolve discrepancies, missing information, and payment-related questions.

Monitor outstanding payables to help ensure obligations are met within required deadlines.

Assist with special accounting or finance projects as assigned, including support for process updates or operational changes when needed. Requirements - Hands-on experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.

Working knowledge of invoice coding, account coding, and high-volume invoice processing.

Experience handling payment activity through check runs and ACH transactions.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct discrepancies efficiently.

Proficiency with accounting systems and standard business software, including spreadsheet applications.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
