Healthcare Construction Project Manager
Job Description
This role leads healthcare and commercial building construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a strong focus on budget control, scheduling, compliance with healthcare regulations, and clear communication with all project stakeholders. The position offers the opportunity to manage competitive, fast-paced projects from design and bidding through purchasing and construction completion.
Responsibilities
Lead healthcare and commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met.
Develop, manage, and track project budgets, schedules, and cost controls to achieve financial and timeline objectives.
Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Manage the preparation, review, and processing of submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and related documentation using tools such as Procore, PlanGrid, and MS Project.
Ensure full compliance with healthcare regulations, ICRA protocols, and life safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Plan and oversee construction activities in occupied healthcare facilities while maintaining infection control and minimizing disruption.
Prepare, review, and manage bids, proposals, pricing, and quotes for construction projects.
Oversee preconstruction activities including estimating, budgeting, and value engineering.
Collaborate with internal teams on purchasing, purchase orders, and procurement of materials and services.
Interpret and work from construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide project execution.
Monitor construction progress, identify risks or issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, regular updates, and responsive issue resolution.
Lead project meetings with owners, design teams, and subcontractors to align on scope, schedule, and expectations.
Ensure accurate project documentation, including cost estimates, change orders, schedules, and construction records.
Support marketing and business development efforts for new projects when needed, particularly in commercial, hotel, and entertainment markets.
Essential Skills
3-7 years of experience working with a general contractor or construction manager.
2-10 years of experience in the commercial building construction market preferred.
Proven project management experience in construction from preconstruction through closeout.
Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, and pricing.
Advanced scheduling expertise, including creation and maintenance of project schedules.
Experience in commercial construction, including building systems and trade coordination.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
Hands-on experience with construction estimating and estimating software.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct project teams and subcontractors.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Outstanding time management, organization, prioritization, attention to detail, and multi-tasking abilities.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Comprehensive understanding of construction trades, scopes of work, timelines, and scheduling/sequencing of work.
Demonstrated ability to maintain strong client relationships and project communication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture strongly preferred.
Healthcare construction experience preferred.
Knowledge of infection control planning and working in occupied healthcare facilities is a plus.
Experience with hotel and entertainment venue construction is preferred.
Experience using Procore, PlanGrid, and MS Project for project management and documentation.
Experience with Bluebeam for drawing review and markup.
Knowledge in mechanical systems, civil work, or engineering-related aspects of construction is beneficial.
Proficient knowledge of estimating processes, technology, and related industry trends.
Experience preparing bids, proposals, and cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
Marketing experience related to construction or project pursuits is a plus.
Experience with purchasing, procurement, and managing purchase orders in a construction environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ardmore, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
