Medical Device Assembler - 1st Shift (Cleanroom)
Job Description
This role involves assembling and testing medical devices in a cleanroom environment using microscopes, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
Working under direct supervision, you will follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures to build high-quality products that support critical patient care.
Work Environment:
1st Shift: Mon through Fri 6:00am-2:30pm and Saturdays right now from 5am to 1:30pm (needs to be open to working 5:00am-3:30pm)
*All candidates MUST be open to Overtime during the weekdays and open to working Saturdays when needed.
-Overtime can start an hour BEFORE the shift time
Manufacturing. They will be working in the cleanroom 100% of the time in close stations.
Responsibilities
Use a variety of tools, fixtures, work instructions, and test equipment to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble and test medical devices.
Understand and follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality documentation.
Comply with all policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements as defined by the Quality System.
Report issues related to product quality, assembly processes, equipment performance, or materials to the appropriate engineering or supervisory contacts.
Perform high-volume small-part assembly and inspection under a microscope for the majority of the shift.
Inspect raw materials and catheter components to ensure they meet specifications before and after assembly.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area to support efficient manufacturing and cleanroom standards.
Provide hands-on job function training and shadowing support to coworkers and new team members as needed.
Participate in reading and learning SOPs and shadowing trainers during initial onboarding and ongoing training.
Follow cleanroom protocols, including gowning procedures and contamination control practices, at all times.
Collaborate with team members in close workstations to meet production goals and quality targets.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Essential Skills
Minimum 6 months of high-volume small-part assembly experience using a microscope.
Ability to work with a microscope for approximately 90% of the shift.
Experience handling and assembling small parts, including catheters or similar components.
Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and collaborate with team members.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to consistently follow detailed written and verbal instructions, SOPs, and quality procedures.
Capability to work in a cleanroom environment 100% of the time, following strict cleanliness and contamination control standards.
Willingness and ability to work 1st shift Monday through Friday and to work Saturdays as needed.
Reliability and stable work history suitable for a long-term contract assignment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
1 year of manufacturing experience with microscope work (aligned with Assembler I level).
2 years of medical device assembly experience with microscope work (aligned with Assembler II level).
Prior medical device manufacturing experience.
Previous cleanroom experience in a production or assembly environment.
Experience with catheter assembly or similar medical tubing products.
Familiarity with mechanical assembly and basic electrical assembly tasks.
Experience using hand tools for assembly work.
Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume production setting.
Openness to a 12-18 month contract assignment.

Work Environment
This is a 1st shift role in a manufacturing cleanroom environment.
Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with regular Saturday work currently from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; candidates must remain open to working during weekdays and on Saturdays as needed, and may occasionally start up to an hour before the scheduled shift time.
Work is performed 100% in a cleanroom at close workstations, following strict gowning, cleanliness, and contamination control procedures.
The role involves extensive microscope use (approximately 90% of the shift), frequent handling of small parts and catheters, and regular use of hand tools, fixtures, and measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
The environment is structured, process-driven, and quality-focused, with initial days dedicated to reading and learning SOPs and shadowing trainers to ensure proper onboarding.
This is a 12-18 month contract assignment within a facility currently at capacity with its permanent headcount

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.
