Job Title: Production Technician (Entry Level, 2nd Shift)
Job Description
This entry-level Production Technician role offers a hands-on opportunity to learn composite manufacturing and grow into a Composite Technician position. You will support production operations by working with tools, materials, and specialized equipment to help build high-quality parts for advanced applications. The position is on 2nd shift, working 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. in 9-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
Train in and perform specific production processes such as tape wrapping, cutting, bonding, lay-up, and bagging of composite parts.
Measure and visually inspect products to verify they meet quality and specification requirements.
Set up, operate, or tend metal molding, casting, or core-making machines to mold metal parts or products.
Smooth and clean inner surfaces of molds using brushes, scrapers, air hoses, or grinding wheels, and fill imperfections with refractory material as needed.
Mix and measure compounds or accurately weigh premixed compounds according to production instructions.
Adjust and monitor temperature controls of ovens to ensure proper curing and processing conditions.
Review blueprints or other work instructions to determine the correct operational methods, sequences, and production steps.
Use hand tools and basic assembly tools to support mechanical and composite assembly tasks.
Perform general production and assembly duties in a manufacturing environment, including repetitive tasks as required.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding work progress, issues, and quality concerns.
Essential Skills
Strong willingness to learn and a positive, proactive attitude toward training and development.
Some experience using hand tools in a work, hobby, or school setting.
Some experience in a mechanical, manufacturing, or construction environment.
Interest in building and assembling parts and components.
Ability to perform high levels of repetitive work while maintaining attention to detail.
Comfort working in a hands-on environment where tasks may be dirty or physically demanding.
Mechanical or construction experience.
Good communication skills to understand instructions and collaborate with team members.
Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in aerospace manufacturing or related industries is a plus.
Experience in general labor, warehouse work, assembly, mechanical assembly, composite work, or general production is beneficial.
Familiarity with production tools and equipment used in manufacturing environments is helpful.
Comfort reviewing blueprints or written instructions is an advantage.

Work Environment
The company operates in the composite insulation and structures sector, supporting the rocket industry with specialized components such as rocket nozzles and alternative lightweight structures. The workforce is approximately 140 employees, and the business maintains a close, family-style environment where many team members are related and cross-trained in different roles. The facility spans three buildings: a main building with office space, showroom, and production floor; a second building with additional production space, testing, and quality functions; and a third building that currently serves as a warehouse and is being expanded. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
