Performs high quality and accurate radiographic procedures in accordance with established protocols. Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner. Educates and trains others on the operation of all equipment, procedures, image quality and exposure techniques. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: NA Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry is required and must be maintained. Must secure CPR certification within 6 months and continuously maintain. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Problem solving skills and discretion with patient information is also required. Computer knowledge or experience. The ability to exercise good judgment is important. Must exhibit strong interpersonal and team building skills. Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients. Must demonstrate strong knowledge of anatomy, radiographic positioning, and proper application of radiographic principles. Must possess the ability to operate the following pieces of equipment safely and efficiently: modality imaging devices, patient transfer devices, security system, fire alarms, emergency equipment, PC (including e-mail), printer, voice documentation devices, EMR, fax and photocopier. Must be willing to train and maintain competency in the operation of new equipment and technology. (15%) - Processes images in accordance with established protocol. (15%) - Establishes a positive rapport with patients and explains radiographic procedures to them. (15%) - Positions and interacts with patients in a professional, caring, courteous, and safe manner to ensure quality care. (Ongoing) - Complies with defined procedures for radiographic examinations to provide appropriate radiographic information for the Radiologists' interpretation. (Ongoing) - Ensures proper protective and safety measures for patients and staff, including the utilization of radiation shielding for patients in accordance with prescribed safety standards. (Ongoing) - Asks pertinent questions of the patient, then provides an adequate clinical history to aid in diagnosis. (Ongoing) - Demonstrates proficiency in operation of all equipment. Reports malfunction and need for adjustments or repair to his/her supervisor and enters a biomed work order. (Ongoing) - Completes all required Enter Edit/Order Entry and tracking for all radiographic procedures in RIS. Completes Performance Completion Checkoffs and Performance Evaluations as needed. Instructs colleagues during their orientation tothe department or for procedures they are not experienced in.
