Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Job Description
This role maintains and repairs mechanical, electrical, and boiler systems in a manufacturing environment while supporting capital projects such as equipment installation and dismantling. You work a swinging 3 on 4 off, 3 on 4 off schedule. Working 12 hour shifts, with occasional overtime and PM's on Saturdays, and no travel requirements. The position focuses on ensuring reliable operation of industrial machinery through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs.
Responsibilities
Reassemble machines after completing repair or maintenance work to ensure proper operation.
Start machines and observe mechanical operation to evaluate efficiency and identify problems.
Inspect and test damaged machine parts, mark defective areas, and communicate repair needs to supervisors.
Lubricate machines, machine parts, and related equipment or apply adhesives and other materials according to specific procedures.
Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments in line with production specifications and safety standards.
Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information accurately in logs or systems.
Read work orders, specifications, and schematics to determine which machines and equipment require repair or maintenance.
Set up and operate machines and adjust controls to regulate operations and optimize performance.
Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other materials between work areas and storage using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
Collect and discard worn machine parts, scrap, and other refuse to maintain clean, safe machinery and work areas.
Clean machines and machine parts using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems.
Support capital projects by installing, relocating, and dismantling equipment as required.
Use forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely to move equipment and components.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and minimize equipment downtime.
Follow safety procedures and plant policies while working under pressure to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned to support maintenance and production needs.
Essential Skills
Experience maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, and boiler systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Ability to use measuring gauges such as tape measures accurately.
Proficiency with various hand and power tools used in industrial maintenance.
Prior experience operating a forklift in a plant or warehouse setting.
Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information related to machinery and systems.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and coordinate repairs.
Solid understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills for interpreting work orders, schematics, and documentation.
Ability to work under pressure and complete assigned tasks in stressful situations while maintaining safety and quality.
Ability to use hand and portable tools, gas and arc welders, forklifts, pickup trucks, testing equipment, tape measures, and computer systems (including shop floor and ERP applications).
Hands-on experience with electrical maintenance, motors, and three-phase (3-phase) power systems.
Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including working with 480V systems and photoelectric sensors (photo eyes).
Experience with PLC troubleshooting and working with automation systems.
Ability to read and work from schematics and blueprints.
Experience in industrial maintenance, including preventive maintenance and maintenance repair activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and boiler maintenance.
Mechanical experience with rotating equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Familiarity with automation systems and industrial control equipment.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting and automated machinery.
Knowledge of electrical systems operating at 480V and the use of photo eyes in automation.
Ability to interpret and apply information from schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Comfort working with maintenance repair, preventive maintenance programs, and industrial maintenance best practices.

Work Environment
You work in an industrial plant environment that can be hot and loud, with active production lines and heavy machinery operating throughout the facility. The role requires frequent use of hand and power tools, gas and arc welders, forklifts, pickup trucks, cranes, hoists, dollies, and various testing equipment. You will also use computers for shop floor applications and ERP systems to record maintenance and production data. Shifts typically range from 8 to 10 hours, totaling approximately 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime and weekend work based on production needs. The environment emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and the ability to work efficiently around large equipment and automated systems.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr.
