Responsibilities
This is a hybrid position and must be within 100 miles of the Rochester MN campus for on-site expectations.
The Principal Product Manager - Data & Analytics is responsible for executing the strategic vision, roadmap, and delivery of data and analytics products that enable Mayo Clinic Laboratories (MCL) to achieve their business objectives. This role reports to the Sr Director of Data & Analytics and AI/Automation Enablement and serves as a key leader in aligning business strategy with data, reporting, and analytics capabilities.
This position plays a critical role in advancing enterprise data strategy, particularly in support of MCL's top transformation project. The Principal Product Manager will lead efforts to understand how these shifts impact data, reporting, and analytics needs across the organization, and translate those insights into actionable product strategies, priorities, and roadmaps.
The Principal Product Manager will partner closely with senior leadership to understand key business drivers, performance metrics, and transformation goals. They will assess and rationalize the current landscape of reports, dashboards, and analytics tools across multiple teams, identifying opportunities to enhance, consolidate, or retire capabilities to better support a scalable, multi-source operating model.
This role requires strong cross-functional leadership and influence, working in partnership with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, IT, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Business Development, and clinical/scientific leadership. The Principal Product Manager will guide prioritization decisions across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy, resource constraints, and value delivery.
The incumbent will influence data governance and reporting standardization efforts, ensuring data quality, consistency, and usability across the organization. They will proactively identify risks and dependencies associated with data and analytics transformations and develop mitigation strategies.
Success in this role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, technical acumen, and business understanding. The ideal candidate is highly effective at navigating ambiguity, influencing without authority, and driving alignment across diverse stakeholder groups. They must be equally comfortable engaging with executive leadership on business strategy and with technical teams on implementation details.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (business, communications, advertising, marketing, statistics, engineering, technology, health care).
Master's Degree preferred.
7+ years of product management experience with experience managing full product lifecycle for complex products or a family of products.
Prior people/team leadership experience as well as Senior Product Management or equivalent experience. Demonstrated leadership skills with collaborative management approach; results oriented with proven ability to work on a diverse range of activities and projects simultaneously; Strong communicator (written & verbal) with active listening skills. Ability to facilitate group/team discussions. Professional and reflects Mayo Clinic values and beliefs. Strong planning and organizational skills. Visionary, Proactive, and problem solver. Ability to effectively negotiate, strong conflict resolution skills, strong attention to detail and multitasking skills, and works well under pressure.
The incumbent must be able to work effectively in a consensus-style operation that expects and promotes teamwork while also having the ability to work individually. Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences. The ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in healthcare, laboratory services, diagnostics, or other regulated industries with complex data ecosystems.
Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data quality management, and enterprise reporting standardization.
Led or played a key leadership role in an enterprise data/analytics transformation, including redefining reporting and analytics strategy in response to a major business model or operating model change.
