Job Description
This role involves working as part of a small to mid-sized crew on commercial construction projects, performing a mix of carpentry, drywall finishing, and paint preparation tasks. You will work in teams of 3-10, often in non-climate-controlled environments, and will contribute to high-quality finishes on interior and exterior surfaces. The position requires strong attention to detail, solid knowledge of safety protocols including OSHA standards, and proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and various coating and finishing techniques. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a typical workweek of approximately 42-43 hours.
Responsibilities
Work as part of a crew of 3-10 on small to mid-sized commercial construction projects.
Perform commercial carpentry tasks, including framing and finish carpentry work.
Hang drywall and prepare it for finishing, including patching holes and smoothing seams.
Carry out drywall finishing tasks to achieve smooth, paint-ready surfaces.
Clean, sand, patch, and prime surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion and a smooth finish.
Apply coatings using brushing, rolling, and spraying techniques on both interior and exterior surfaces.
Mix paints to achieve precise colors and finishes, including matte, gloss, and textured coatings.
Work with primers, sealers, epoxies, and specialty coatings commonly used in commercial construction.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for carpentry, drywall, and finishing tasks.
Follow established safety protocols and adhere to OSHA standards at all times on the job site.
Adapt to working in non-climate-controlled environments throughout the project duration.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment.
Essential Skills
At least 2+ years of experience in commercial carpentry.
Proven experience working on small to mid-sized commercial construction projects.
Proficiency in finish carpentry, including detailed trim and finishing work.
Experience hanging and finishing drywall to a high standard.
Strong attention to detail in surface preparation, finishing, and overall workmanship.
Ability to perform cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming to prepare surfaces for paint.
Skilled in brushing, rolling, and spraying techniques for interior and exterior surfaces.
Ability to mix paints to achieve accurate colors and desired finishes such as matte, gloss, and textured coatings.
Familiarity with primers, sealers, epoxies, and specialty coatings used in commercial construction.
Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols, including OSHA standards.
Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday, typically 42-43 hours per week.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of experience in commercial construction or related trades is preferred.
Experience with concrete work is an advantage.
Experience in paint preparation and coating application on commercial projects is beneficial.
Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and non-climate-controlled environments.
Strong teamwork and communication skills when working in crews of varying sizes.

The role involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, and painting equipment such as brushes, rollers, and spray systems, along with handling primers, sealers, epoxies, and other specialty coatings appropriate for commercial construction.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
