Summary This Administrative Officer (AO) position is located in the Pharmacy Service of the Corporal Michael J Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (CMCVAMC). This position provides support to the Pharmacy Service. This is a complex and multi-faceted position that involves the coordination of Pharmacy administrative activities both within the service as well as with key personnel in other services. Responsibilities THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION Duties may include but are not limited to the following: Directs and coordinates all personnel management matters for the Service. Prepares and develops budgets and monitors resource needs and allocation. Monitors and completes all special and recurring administrative reports and correspondence. Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Represents the Chief and Associate Chiefs in all matters not of a clinical nature. Acts as a liaison between Pharmacy, Human Resources Management Service, and Fiscal Services. Reviews and monitors performance standards, competencies, and position descriptions. Analyzes employee turnover rates and overtime use, identifies problem areas, and makes recommendations. Coordinates required training for staff including new employees. Assists in conducting and analyzing studies relating to organization and administrative functions. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-9 GRADE LEVEL, YOU MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of an Administrative Officer, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes coordinating and monitoring the functions of administrative services within an office; directing and coordinating personnel actions such as recruitments, disciplinary actions, and leave monitoring; performing budget and fiscal management duties; analyzing administrative data and preparing reports; coordinating equipment and supply acquisitions; and serving as a liaison between various service lines and support services.
