Job Title: Warehouse Distribution Associate
Job Description
This role focuses on accurately picking, packing, and shipping parts in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will work as part of a collaborative team to process orders, manage inventory, and prepare outbound shipments while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and organization. Over time, you will become familiar with a wide range of products, tools, and items, ensuring they are correctly scanned, stored, and shipped to the right locations.
Responsibilities
Take and prioritize orders to ensure all shipments are completed accurately and on time.
Work as part of a team to pick parts from the warehouse and place them on the correct shelves or staging areas.
Learn and recognize each product, tool, and item stored in the warehouse to support accurate picking and inventory control.
Use an RF scanner on a daily basis to scan parts, track inventory movements, and update the ERP system.
Count inventory and perform cycle counts to physically verify that all parts are accounted for.
Consolidate parts stored in multiple locations to maintain an organized and efficient warehouse layout.
Inspect parts for damage, rust, or other quality issues before packing or shipping.
Package parts according to established packaging standards to protect items during transit.
Prepare outbound shipments by physically verifying all units are accounted for and properly staged on the dock.
Unbag, unband, and inspect outbound units for damage before final shipment.
Take and upload photos for outbound shipments as part of the digital Outbound Quality Inspection process.
Request any units not staged on the dock to be pulled and staged for inspection and shipment.
Ensure all parts are labeled correctly and shipped to the correct address and location.
Handle materials safely, including lifting items up to 50 pounds as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and non-cluttered work area in line with warehouse standards.
Meet deadlines and productivity goals while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality, arriving on time and minimizing unscheduled absences.
Follow all established warehouse processes and procedures to support a safe and efficient operation.
Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, cooperative work environment.
Essential Skills
Previous inventory control experience.
Daily use of RF scanners for scanning and tracking parts.
Familiarity with ERP systems and the ability to use them in day-to-day warehouse operations.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of material handling duties.
Experience with picking and packing orders in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Strong basic math skills to support counting, inventory verification, and order accuracy.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Attention to detail when verifying part counts, inspecting items, and confirming shipment details.
Reliable attendance and punctuality, with a strong sense of dependability.
Willingness to take on a variety of warehouse tasks and a "do whatever it takes" attitude to get the job done.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with distribution and small parcel shipping processes.
Material handling, including operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks or forklifts (if certified and applicable).
Experience with scanning, picking, and packing workflows in a warehouse setting.
Strong organizational skills to help maintain a clean, structured, and efficient warehouse.
Ability to follow detailed processes and standard operating procedures.
Positive, team-oriented personality that contributes to a cooperative work culture.
Stable work history with clear and reasonable explanations for previous job changes.

Work Environment
This position is based at a west campus warehouse facility on a first shift schedule, typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with work on most Saturdays and some Sundays as needed to meet deadlines. The warehouse is described as extremely clean, safe, open, and non-cluttered, with organized shelving and clearly defined processes for every task. You will work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven distribution environment using ERP systems, RF scanners, and standard warehouse equipment for picking, packing, and material handling. The operation emphasizes teamwork, communication, and a structured approach to workflow. Dependability, punctuality, and consistent attendance are critical, as the team relies on each person to be present and engaged. The facility maintains a professional atmosphere where cleanliness, organization, and safety are part of the daily routine.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester Hills, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
