Summary About the Position: This position is part of the Reemployed Annuitants Cadre, in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). On an as-needed basis, employees occupying these positions provide emergency support to disaster-stricken areas throughout the United States. This is a temporary appointment not to exceed 1-year. At management's discretion, the appointment may be extended for up to a maximum of 3-years or converted to a term appointment for up to a maximum of 6-years. Responsibilities Plans, directs, and coordinates administrative operations to ensure effective support of organizational and emergency response missions. Monitors and oversees programs involving personnel, property accountability, records management, facilities, logistics, and operational support activities. Develops reports, briefings, and recommendations for leadership to support decision-making during routine operations and disaster response efforts. Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, including Federal agencies and contractors, to support mission execution, resource allocation, and emergency operations. Responds to disaster or contingency operations by establishing priorities, resolving administrative issues, and supporting time-sensitive missions in austere environments. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: managing and evaluating administrative and operational programs; conducting program analyses and recommending improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness; overseeing administrative support functions such as logistics, records management, personnel, and resource coordination; supporting emergency response or contingency operations; and developing policies, procedures, and recommendations to support organizational mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
