Job Duties:
Drives both gas and diesel vehicles ranging from ½ ton vans to semi-tractor trailer rigs weighing 80,000 lbs.
Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required by Federal law
Supervises and trains assigned inmate workers
Closely monitors work crew activities and enforces security practices and daily sanitation in the area of responsibility in accordance with ADCRR policies, procedures, and best practices
Oversees the loading, delivery, and installation of ACI products
Supervises warehouse activities performed by inmates
Prepares necessary trip tickets per ADCRR guidelines and maintains CDL certifications/medical compliance
Takes precautionary measures to prevent damage or theft of items while in transit
Accounts for all goods being shipped on the bill of lading and verifies the quality of goods being sold
Ensures quality installation
Interfaces with customers and vendors during pickup, delivery, and installation of ACI-produced goods
Operates material handling equipment, which includes hand trucks, electric pallet jacks, and gas-operated forklifts (up to 11,000 lbs. capacity)
Consults with Management, the Transportation Supervisor, and other staff regarding quality control issues
Attends mandatory training and staff meetings
Prepares written reports as required
Drives on State business
Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Selective Preference(s):
At least three (3) years of on-the-job experience driving a semi-tractor-trailer and/or box truck
Working in a warehouse or transportation operation with duties that include supervision, shipping, receiving, inventory control, product delivery, storage, manufacturing, and installation
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation, drug test, and possibly a medical/physical examination.
A current and valid Arizona Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
