Job Title: 2nd Shift General Production Worker
Job Description
This role supports a manufacturing operation that produces metal wire and bar products within the fastener industry. You will operate a variety of production equipment, monitor product quality, and maintain accurate production records while following established safety and quality standards on the 2nd shift.
Responsibilities
Operate manufacturing equipment in accordance with production prints, specifications, and established procedures.
Run assigned equipment such as wire drawing machines, grinders, mills, annealing furnaces, and similar production machinery.
Produce the required quantity of material while maintaining established specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
Measure finished parts using precision tools to verify compliance with functional, quality, and cosmetic requirements.
Maintain accurate logs and records of units produced, including documenting errors, rejected parts, and discarded material.
Inspect equipment prior to use to confirm proper setup, alignment, and safe operating condition.
Perform basic and routine equipment adjustments and maintenance to support efficient production.
Follow all safety guidelines, quality practices, and standard operating procedures at all times.
Keep the work area clean, safe, and orderly throughout the shift.
Communicate clearly with coworkers and leadership regarding production status, issues, and safety concerns.
Closely follow written and verbal instructions related to production processes and job assignments.
Work required overtime, including frequent weekend overtime, in line with production and attendance expectations.
Perform other related production and general labor duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 1 year of general production or general labor experience in a highly industrial or manufacturing environment.
Experience operating or supporting operation of production or manufacturing equipment.
Ability to follow directions accurately and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to quickly learn and understand the operation of production equipment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving basic production issues.
Understanding of, or ability to learn, applicable OSHA and environmental regulations and comply with them.
Proficiency in reading and understanding instructions and documents in English.
Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with coworkers and leadership.
Commitment to maintaining quality practices and safety standards at all times.
Ability and willingness to work overtime as required, including frequent weekend overtime.
Reliable attendance and adherence to attendance expectations and scheduling requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
in manufacturing, fastener production, or other heavy industrial work environments.
Familiarity with wire drawing equipment, grinders, mills, and annealing furnaces.
Comfort working with precision measuring tools to verify product quality.
Ability to maintain detailed production logs and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.

Work Environment
This position is based in a very industrial manufacturing environment focused on metal wire and bar products within the fastener industry. You will work on the 2nd shift, typically from 3:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., on an 8-hour schedule Monday through Friday, with heavy overtime requirements that frequently include weekends. The role involves working around production machinery such as wire drawing equipment, grinders, mills, and annealing furnaces, with consistent exposure to typical industrial conditions such as noise, moving equipment, and production materials. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toed footwear. The workplace emphasizes strict adherence to safety procedures, quality standards, and an attendance policy that supports reliable production coverage.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Fe Springs, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
