The Accounting Manager will serve as an independent, self-starting contributor supporting the treasury team while a permanent team member participates in an SAP implementation. This role focuses on operational accounting across inventory, manufacturing, and production, transforming large volumes of raw financial data into clear, actionable reporting for leadership. The Accounting Manager will work closely with cost accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate financial analysis and reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
Responsibilities
Support the treasury team by taking ownership of key accounting and reporting activities during the SAP implementation period.
Work with operational accounting related to inventory, manufacturing, and production processes to ensure accurate financial records.
Extract, clean, and interpret large sets of raw financial data, often exceeding 30,000 lines or SKUs, and convert them into structured reports.
Analyze manufacturing variances and other cost-related metrics to provide insights into operational performance.
Manipulate and analyze data using Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP, as well as AI and other analytical tools where appropriate.
Retrieve, analyze, and summarize financial data using Microsoft Office tools to support decision-making.
Prepare and present clear, concise financial reports and analyses to leadership, explaining key drivers and trends.
Collaborate daily with the cost accounting team to support cost analysis and cost reporting activities.
Apply US GAAP principles to ensure the accuracy and compliance of accounting records and financial reports.
Contribute input related to SAP configuration and master data by participating in discussions and helping identify gaps or issues in financial data flows.
Support reconciliation, month-end close, and reporting activities as needed, including inventory and fixed asset accounting.
Essential Skills
Proven experience in accounting with a focus on operations such as inventory, manufacturing, and production.
Strong ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets (30,000+ lines or SKUs).
Demonstrated experience analyzing and presenting financial figures to leadership or stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
Experience using Microsoft Office tools for data retrieval, analysis, and reporting.
Solid understanding and practical application of US GAAP in day-to-day accounting.
Experience with accounting activities such as reconciliation, month-end close, and financial reporting.
Experience with inventory and fixed asset accounting.
Ability to work independently as a self-starter and operate as an effective individual contributor.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
Clear and confident communication skills, particularly in presenting financial data and insights.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with SAP, particularly in relation to configuration, master data, and financial data flows, is a plus.
Cost accounting or cost analysis experience is highly desirable.
Experience working with manufacturing variances and daily cost analysis is an advantage.
Familiarity with AI tools or advanced analytics tools for financial data analysis is beneficial.
Background in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment is helpful.

The role is based within a generic and branded pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, working closely with treasury, cost accounting, and operations teams. You will work extensively with large financial data sets and use tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, SAP, and analytical or AI tools to support reporting and analysis. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $95.00/hr.
