As Technical Services Supervisor, you will serve as the technical authority for substations, SCADA, distribution automation, metering, and system reliability programs. What You'll DoTechnical Leadership & System Ownership
Provide technical leadership and operational oversight for substations, SCADA systems, distribution automation, metering, and system reliability programs
Ensure electric system safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance through proper maintenance, inspection, and rapid issue resolution
Serve as a key technical leader during outages, emergencies, and storm restoration efforts, including duty supervisor rotation
Substation, Distribution & SCADA Oversight
Oversee planning, operation, and support for substations, breakers, reclosers, voltage regulators, transformers, capacitor banks, and T&D systems
Direct and manage SCADA systems, including servers, databases, HMIs, communications, load management, and field integration
Guide deployment and performance of distribution automation technologies and AMI/metering systems for residential and commercial services
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and coordinate Systems Engineers, Substation Foremen, Substation Technicians, and AMI/SCADA Technicians
Act as the technical escalation point for voltage complaints, transformer performance, load balancing, and power quality investigations
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, and Field Services to align design, construction, and maintenance activities
Standards, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all engineering designs, construction practices, and maintenance activities meet safety, regulatory, and engineering standards
Apply advanced knowledge of RUS specifications, NESC, and cooperative service rules to system decisions and improvements
What You BringRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited) plus 5+ years of electric utility experience

10+ years of equivalent utility system experience
Strong working knowledge of utility substations, distribution systems, SCADA, and AMI
Proven troubleshooting ability and deep understanding of power quality and system performance
Hands-on and supervisory expertise in switching procedures and maintenance standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage members, regulators, and internal teams
Willingness to work extended or irregular hours during outages and emergencies
Preferred & Additional Qualifications
Experience with distribution, substation, and transmission standards
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
Work Environment & Culture
This role offers a dynamic blend of office-based engineering, field oversight, and system operations. You will work directly with substations, distribution facilities, and outdoor job sites, with occasional travel and overnight training. Emergency response and storm restoration participation are essential aspects of the role.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.08 - $84.13/hr.
