Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to temporarily join a large organization in Vancouver, Washington on a contract basis. This onsite opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured accounting environment and can manage a steady flow of vendor invoices with precision. The role centers on supporting accounts payable operations, maintaining accurate records, and helping the team meet weekly and monthly reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Accurately enter invoice data into the accounting system, ensuring proper general ledger coding, vendor details, and payment amounts.

Process a high volume of vendor invoices, with a focus on non-purchase-order transactions across multiple operational locations.

Review and validate invoice details to determine appropriate expense classifications and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Match invoices to purchase orders or receiving documentation when available, resolving any inconsistencies.

Reconcile vendor statements, identify discrepancies, and follow up to clear outstanding balances in a timely manner.

Maintain organized records by tracking invoice intake, attaching supporting documentation, and updating workflow tools.

Support weekly and month-end close processes by preparing and recording transactions within required timelines.

Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and established financial policies in a structured environment.

Assist with special projects, including process enhancements and system-related updates within the accounts payable function.

Requirements

Prior experience in accounts payable, particularly in a fast-paced, high-volume processing environment.

Demonstrated accuracy, strong organizational skills, and close attention to detail when working with financial documentation.

Ability to follow established procedures and internal controls within a structured, compliance-focused setting.

Proven capability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and data entry functions.

Familiarity with invoice and account coding, electronic payments, and check processing support.
