Lead and participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses, documenting findings and driving corrective and preventive actions.
Plan, develop, and deliver effective employee safety training programs, including environmental health and health and safety topics.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the site, facilities, and processes, and follow up on corrective actions to closure.
Perform calculations and analysis related to explosive quantities, potential hazards, and safe operating limits within designated areas.
Generate detailed safety reports and documentation, including compliance reports, audit findings, and PHA documentation.
Collaborate closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to integrate safety into process and product design.
Work regularly with inspectors, manufacturing teams, and supplier quality engineering (SQE) to address safety concerns and improvements.
Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and supporting new product and process initiatives.
Communicate effectively across different functional groups, presenting safety findings, recommendations, and training in a clear and engaging manner.
Support and participate in exciting new product initiatives involving cutting-edge technologies such as drones, counter-UAV systems, and medium-caliber products, ensuring safety is embedded in all stages.

Interest in supporting innovative technologies such as drones, counter-UAV systems, and medium-caliber products from a safety perspective.
Work Environment
This role operates in a clean, modern manufacturing environment that produces specialized training rounds and related products for commercial and government customers. The position follows a 9/80 work schedule, typically running from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch on standard days, and 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on working Fridays, with every other Friday off. There is some flexibility to shift start and end times by up to an hour, provided the schedule remains consistent. The Safety Engineer works as part of a growing engineering team, reporting into a mechanical engineering function and collaborating closely with a group of manufacturing engineers. The role is highly cross-functional and involves regular coordination with R&D, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, inspectors, and the supplier quality engineering team, rather than being siloed to a single department. The environment emphasizes stability, with long-term contracts and strong business growth, and offers a growth mindset with opportunities to expand responsibilities as the team grows. The organization supports professional development, including tuition reimbursement for employees and their families, and encourages engagement with cutting-edge product initiatives that incorporate advanced technologies.
