About the role
CBRE Enterprise Data Governance team is looking for an experienced, customer-oriented, business-focused Manager to support the Building Operations & Experience (BOE) business segment. This role is based in the United States and will report to Director, Digital & Technology. He or she will interface with stakeholders across the globe as the scope of the program is global and Enterprise Data Governance and business teams are distributed across Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific.
The Data Governance Operations Manager will be responsible for collaborating with business and platform teams to define, develop, and implement data governance, data management and data quality-related processes and tools for various BOE-related initiatives. This includes understanding how to bridge cross-functional business processes and disparate data flows, and then define frameworks, policies, standard operating procedures, process engineering, business-as-usual (BAU) activities, and system improvements. This role will provide project management and operational support for various data governance programs and services, including account onboarding and transition onto our data governance and data quality platforms. The Data Governance Operations Manager must be able to lead others through influence, without direct reporting authority. She or he will be expected to learn and understand the real estate business and the systems that support it at CBRE.
What you'll do
Assist in the development of data governance strategies that align with BOE priorities, including data quality management, data acquisition, reporting analytics, data and system support and business intelligence. Develop expert knowledge of business and solution domains in the above areas of focus.
Assist in developing and defining organizational structures, business processes, data policies and procedures, standard operating procedures, tools and communications protocols for data governance, data management and data quality
Manage multiple data governance and BOE initiatives, leveraging project management skills to execute tasks, track progress, and ensure alignment with the overall project plan, including the enhancement of the myData property data mastering platform.
In collaboration with Enterprise Data Governance leadership, develop frameworks and guidelines for various data governance, data management and data quality-related processes and tools
Collaborate with business and platform teams to define and develop policies, business processes, playbooks, standard operating procedures, business-as-usual activities, and system improvements
Engage in process engineering activities to streamline data governance workflows and enhance efficiency.
Provide operational transition support for BOE accounts, including onboarding onto our data quality and data governance platforms.
Manage cost recovery, collaborating closely with our Finance partner to ensure timely collection from account teams utilizing our data governance services. Forecast projections on a monthly basis.
Develop standard business templates with consistent look-and-feel to support data governance initiatives
Conduct data analysis, including but not limited to property data within the myData platform, identifying trends, anomalies, and insights to support data governance and improvement efforts.
Define ongoing maintenance strategy to support data governance and quality assurance.
Coordinate with stakeholders such as senior leadership, sector leadership, and global/regional IT organizations to adopt and leverage common best practices and standard frameworks, tools and processes.
Participate in operational and strategic planning for governing and managing property data, including onboarding of client data into property data mastering tool for new and existing accounts
Develop communication approaches and change management strategies; determine focus, prepare and deliver presentations
Develop training strategy and materials, and execute training
Demonstrate leadership experience and communicate effectively across organizational lines

What you'll need
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in Business Administration, Information Management, MIS, Library Science, Computer Science or related fields, and a minimum of six to ten years of related experience and/or training.
3-5 years of relevant experience in digital management, technology, data governance, data management and/or data quality related experience in an enterprise environment across multiple application systems and business functions.
2 + years related experience in commercial real estate management (preferred) or related industry
Expert level skills in MS Word and PowerPoint required.
Experience with data management tools including MS Excel
Demonstrated experience in a project environment utilizing Agile or Scrum methodologies.
Experience working in a global environment and remote setting.
Experience with enterprise data governance tools, such as Collibra, Informatica, or Ataccama preferred
Smartsheet and Resource Management experience preferred.
Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills. Ability to use strong conceptual and analytical skills to generate insights and recommendations.
Ability to establish and maintain trust and confidence with customers, stakeholders and project teams through effective communication, conflict management and professional rapport
Experience in dealing with internal and external customers, service providers and vendors.
Ability to work with various levels of peers regarding complex business and data related issues.
Relationship management skills including strong listening and consultative capability, the ability to influence business and technology partners to drive change and resolve conflicts
Data analysis skills are essential. Understand business needs; be able to interpret requirements, identify impacts and analyze problems to determine impacts to business processes throughout the organization.

Demonstrated data governance experience and knowledge of how it impacts processes. Knowledge of data governance best practices.
Understanding of data management, metadata and data quality.
Knowledge of data lifecycle and maintenance processes.
Must handle multiple tasks, manage time effectively, and establish priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing team environment.
Flexible and adaptable - able to work with diverse groups of people.
