Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Electrical Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs industrial electrical systems and equipment in a large manufacturing environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting equipment failures, replacing electrical components, and supporting automated systems, including PLCs and variable frequency drives, to keep production machinery operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Install new electrical equipment and systems on production and converting machinery.
Diagnose and repair equipment failures by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Troubleshoot and replace electrical components, including AC and DC drives and related control devices.
Perform parameter changes and adjustments on equipment controls to optimize performance.
Work on AC systems, coater controls, and 480V electrical systems in an industrial setting.
Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical components to minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems and variable frequency drives to restore proper operation.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams to support installation and repair activities.
Support maintenance activities on large paper converting machinery and related industrial equipment.
Collaborate with other maintenance team members and production staff to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
Essential Skills
At least 5 years of experience in an industrial electrical maintenance position.
Proven experience repairing and replacing electrical components, including AC and DC drives.
A minimum of 3 years of experience working with PLCs and variable frequency drives.
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in an industrial environment.
Experience performing preventive maintenance on production and converting machinery.
Ability to work with 480V electrical systems safely and effectively.
Capability to perform parameter changes and work with equipment controls, including coater controls and AC systems.
Mechanical aptitude to support maintenance activities on large industrial equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Rockwell equipment, including Allen-Bradley PLCs, is preferred.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting and PLC control in an industrial setting.
Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Experience with welding is a plus.
Experience working on paper converting machinery is beneficial.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
