Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms (to include cottages and villas), 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

What will I be doing?
As a Banquet Captain, you would be responsible for overseeing the pre-event, event and post event activities of all food and beverage, Team Members and guests during banquet functions in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Supervise food and beverage service throughout banquet functions to ensure quality service and product quality.
Supervise and manage all staff associated with the particular event/function.
Assist with the planning, organizing and execution of all banquet functions including, but not limited to, breakfast, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, galas, etc.
Greet and welcome client representative and guests, responding to requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
Participate in and lead department meetings.
Process banquet checks accurately and efficiently for payment.
Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service.
Serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations.
Supervising Staff: Directing and motivating banquet staff to ensure efficient service and adherence to service standards, company policies and compliance regulations.
Event Coordination: Collaborating with other departments (culinary, event planning) to ensure seamless event execution.
Setup and Breakdown: Overseeing the proper setup and breakdown of banquet rooms, including furniture, equipment, and table settings.
Guest Interaction: Greet guests, assist with seating, and ensure guest satisfaction.
Service Supervision: Monitoring servers and ensuring proper service standards are followed.
Inventory and Supplies: Managing banquet supplies and ensuring sufficient inventory.
Quality Control: Inspecting the cleanliness and presentation of all banquet areas, equipment, china and Team Member Dress Code.
Problem Solving: Addressing any issues or requests that arise during the event.
Communication: Communicating with guests, staff, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Training and Development: Assisting in training new staff and providing ongoing coaching and guidance.
