POSITION DETAILS
The Center for Inclusivity and Equal Opportunity ("CIEO" or the "Center") was established by the Board of Trustees and the Chancellor for the City University of New York ("CUNY" or the "University") in June 2024, as part of CUNY's ongoing efforts to combat discrimination and harassment, and CUNY's ongoing efforts to continuously foster understanding amongst our diverse community members. The Center is responsible for systemwide report management and compliance pertaining to discrimination and harassment, policy review, development, and implementation of all CUNY policies prohibiting discrimination and harassment, regular and comprehensive training and orientation for administrators implementing CUNY's policies prohibiting discrimination and harassment, systemwide educational programming addressing discrimination and harassment, and monitoring and analyzing discrimination and harassment data obtained from all 26 campuses in the CUNY system and from the central office. The goal of the Center is to eliminate discrimination and harassment in the CUNY community, including discrimination and harassment that violates Title II, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, and associated federal, state, and local civil rights laws.
Reporting to the Executive Director of CIEO, the Administrative Executive Assistant provides high-level essential administrative support to the Center, which also includes supporting the Deputy Director of Compliance and Policy, and the Deputy Director for Educational Programming, Training, and Orientation. This role involves maintaining a comprehensive calendar of reports, deadlines, and key dates while effectively managing schedules. The Executive Assistant manages communications for the Center, including sensitive inquiries from the public and internal requests. Additionally, the Assistant prepares, creates, and distributes complex management reports with a high degree of accuracy.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview information, other key duties include, but will not be limited to the following:
Effectively manages diverse assignments while maintaining organization and productivity in a fast-paced environment that demands agility and tact.
Provides high-level administrative support to the Executive Director, Deputy Director of Compliance and Policy and the Deputy Director for Educational Programming, Training, and Orientation.
Organizes and schedules appointments and meetings for the Executive Director, and the deputy directors of the Center as per their specific requirements.
Participates in strategic meetings with the Executive Director to meticulously document comprehensive notes and diligently track action items to ensure seamless execution and follow-up.
Contributes to the scheduling and planning of events for the Center.
Books travel and other engagements as needed for the Executive Director and the two Deputy Directors.
Oversees and manages the procurement and budget processes for the Center.
Performs additional related duties to enhance the Center's office operations as assigned

Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.
Preferred:
1+ year of C-suite support experience.
Displays strategic thinking and initiative.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Provides support to a Campus or University Executive, organizing and supervising unit activities.
Creates appointment and meeting schedules, arranges meetings, and prepares for a variety of special events. Maintains an ongoing calendar of reports, deadlines, and key dates and incorporates these into a schedule.
Coordinates Executive communications, including those requiring a high degree of sensitivity. May respond to public inquiries as well as requests from within the Campus/University community.
Organizes, creates, and distributes key, complex management reports with a high degree of accuracy.
Organizes, manages, and tracks written and email correspondence, maintaining logs and records of follow-up activities.
Procures required internal and external resources and services and manages their utilization.
May supervise office staff, performing basic Human Resources functions such as recruiting and interviewing.
May perform related duties as assigned; may participate in special projects and efforts to improve unit effectiveness.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range is $79,598 - $86,741 , commensurate with credentials, education, and experience.
CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
