Job Title: Electronic Assembler
Job Description
We are seeking a focused and detail-oriented Electronic Assembler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the hands-on assembly of electronic products, with a focus on manual soldering and surface-mount technology (SMT). Additional responsibilities include performing functional testing and chip programming.
Responsibilities
Precision Assembly: Wire and assemble electronic components such as switches, resistors, microchips, and capacitors into finished subassemblies using hand tools and specialized equipment.
SMT & Thru-Hole Soldering: Perform high-quality hand soldering on both surface-mount technology (SMT) and thru-hole components.
Chip Programming: Load firmware and software onto integrated circuits (ICs) and microcontrollers using specialized programming hardware and software interfaces.
Functional Testing: Run diagnostic tests on completed boards using multimeters or automated test fixtures to verify electrical performance.
Rework & Repair: Identify assembly defects or test failures and perform necessary solder rework or component replacement to bring units up to spec.
ESD Safety: Strictly follow electrostatic discharge (ESD) safety protocols to prevent damage to sensitive chips and programmed components.
Essential Skills
Soldering Expertise: Proven experience with hand soldering, specifically working with small SMT parts and lead-free solder.
Technical Literacy: Ability to navigate basic computer interfaces for chip programming and interpret 'pass/fail' results from testing software.
Manual Dexterity: Exceptional hand-eye coordination for manipulating miniature components and connecting test leads.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work while sitting for long periods and handle small tools and parts with high repetition.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with electrical assembly and electronic assembly.
Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Familiarity with panel wiring and control panel wiring.

Work Environment
The work environment is a climate-controlled electronics manufacturing site. Positions are seated, and the team size is small, consisting of 5-8 people. The standard shift is from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shawnee Mission, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
