Job Summary
The Accounting Specialist serves as support to payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards. General tasks include performing a variety of accounting duties including processing transactions, maintaining accurate records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with reporting while ensuring internal controls and accuracy of financial records are maintained. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of accounting-related data, supporting the month-endclose process, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

Salary: $80, 168.40
Responsibilities
Monitor daily and weekly bank transactions and prepares necessary checkbook entries.
Integrate daily revenue files from operating systems into accounting software.
Monitor daily revenue system activity to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist with internal audits, including preparing documentation leading up to audits and writing up recommendations, post audit.
Prepare general ledger and bank reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting regulations.
Assist the department with reporting needs.
Assist the budget team with permissions, reporting and allocation review.
Update standard operating procedures as needed.
Research AR or AP account inquiries.
Assists with preparation for annual financial audits or funder related audits.
Provide support for duties of team members as needed.

Qualifications
Three or more years of accounting or bookeeping experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Intermediate MS Excel skills.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. NetSuite, Quickbooks, or similar).
Excellent computer skills and experience working with word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Knowledge of standard office equipment such as fax machines, copiers and phone systems.
Superior customer service skills, responding to employee, management and vendors via phone, e-mail or in person.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
Ability to speak any language in addition to English.
