We have an outstanding career opportunity for anInstrument & Electrical Technicianto join a leading Company located in theGales Ferry, CTsurrounding area.

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000

The Instrument and Electrical Technician (I&E Tech) will be responsible for the maintenance of instruments and electrical systems in the Allyn's Point manufacturing plant. This position offers candidates the opportunity to become a team member on a close-knit team working in a fast-paced, challenging work environment.

Responsibilities :

Responsible for working as an electrically skilled person as defined in the Electrical Work Practices.

In the long term, as the candidate gains experience, they will be expected to perform the role of facility representative as defined in the electrical work practices.

Troubleshoot and diagnose instrument and electrical problems and select and implement corrective actions.

Removes and replaces components at the board level.

Identifies DCS and PLC hardware problems and replaces cards.

Troubleshot and program PLC software.

Calibrates process instruments according to applicable standards .

Operates and maintains instrument and electrical testing equipment.

Maintains electrical hardware typically up to 480 volts.

Plans, prioritizes, and schedules instrument and electrical maintenance with supervision and technician input .

Designs and implements corrective actions identified in incident reports and work orders.

Maintains and completes instrument and electrical system preventative maintenance activities.

Identifies and defines required procedures and inspection frequency.

Generates and evaluates reliability data from the maintenance database (EMTS).

Determines areas of focus for reliability/cost reduction projects.

Requests/performs failure analysis as needed.

Designs instruments, loops, and electrical systems.

Specifies, requisitions, and installs instruments and electrical components (measurements of flow, temperature, pressure).

Serves as an electrical subject matter expert on capital project reviews.

This job includes working outdoors in inclement weather (sometimes for an extended period).

Follows and ensures compliance with all plant safety and maintenance procedures.

Other duties as assigned by the Plant Leader.

Basic Hiring Criteria :

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum two years of experience as an instrument technician in a manufacturing environment.

Minimum two years of experience as an electrical technician in a manufacturing environment.

Also preferred - two-year craft degree and electrical license.
