Overview

Be part of the nation's only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Administrative Assistant and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the Environmental, Safety & Health team. The successful candidate will perform routine administrative duties including answering phones, making travel arrangements, scheduling meetings, assisting with internal and external correspondence, coordinating records, tracking commitments, updating calendars, and preparing reports.

The position requires ability to interact professionally with multiple levels of management, employees, and other stakeholders. Must exercise good judgement, discretion, and professionalism in all matters.

Minimum Requirements

Associate's degree with two (2) years of administrative experience, or

High School Diploma or Equivalency with four (4) years of administrative experience is required.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Preferred Requirements

Previous WIPP experience.

WIPP Records experience/training/qualification.

Non-exempt grade level(s) 24-26. Salary range: $54,686 to $93,011 per year -- the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate's relevant experience and education.
