Bush Hog, RhinoAg, and Dixie Chopper are among the most recognized and successful brands in the Agricultural and Outdoor Power Equipment industries The Director of Sales and Marketing is a key leadership role responsible for driving customer satisfaction, revenue growth, market presence, and profitability across Bush Hog, RhinoAg, and Dixie Chopper-leading brands in agricultural and outdoor power equipment.. Reporting to the General Manager, this position oversees all sales, marketing, and customer service functions, ensuring strategic alignment with company goals. The Director provides guidance, training, and development to Sales & Marketing teams, monitors market conditions, oversees sales forecasting, drives long-term planning, and represents the company in commercial communications.

Essential Functions of the Job:
Focus, communicate, encourage and contribute to safety in all aspects of the job.
Builds, maintains and directs an efficient, motivated, well-trained and effective field sales team.
Supervises the formation and maintenance of an adequate recruitment, hiring, training and development program for sales personnel.
Collaborate with engineering and product management on product lifecycle, positioning, and margins.
Develops and recommends for approval, policies and programs relating to size and @type of sales organization, new business development, distribution channels, sales objectives by product and geographical area, sales department compensation levels, personnel development budgets, sales department budgets and sales promotion activities. Assists in developing and administering Company credit policies.
Executes sales programs in accordance with approved policies. Informs management of significant sales developments affecting the Company. Interprets Company policy in connection with questions arising in the field and guides TSM's (Territory Sales Managers) on matters beyond their authority and experience.
Develops and assigns sales objectives to sales territories, through National Sales Manager and Regional Sales Managers. Periodically evaluates territory performance and takes necessary steps to bring results in-line with objectives. Approves travel and selling expenses of direct reports, reviews related reports and institutes remedial action when expense policies are violated.
Plans and conducts periodic sales meetings for the purpose of educating, training and stimulating the sales organization. Conducts and participates in customer meetings and trade shows as required.
Prepares and recommends selling costs and expense budgets. Ensures sales operations are within approved budgets. Achieves adequate profit margin and sales volumes as required to maintain profitable operations in accordance with Company plans.
Assists in the preparation of advertising and promotion programs. Supervises the execution of such programs by sales personnel. Supervises the preparation and interpretation of reports regarding sales and markets and compares sales forecasts with actual sales and sales plans or quotas.
Recommends the addition of new products to product line and/or the modification, improvement or elimination of existing items.
Travels in the field calling on present and prospective customers in conjunction with field sales staff to assist them as needed and train them in product knowledge and effective sales techniques. Consults and supervises Sales Representatives as needed/required.
Participates in development of Company sales and growth plans, identifies opportunities, risks and problems related to all Company activities and recommends actions and solutions.
Directs communications and marketing efforts via catalogs, promotional material, web content and layout, and advertising.
Must be willing to relocate to Selma, AL or surrounding communities.
Perform all other duties assigned by Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in Sales, Customer Service and Marketing. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Mathematical Skills
Able to calculate figures and amounts for discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Able apply concepts of basic Algebra.
Reasoning Ability
Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Language Skills: Excellent communication and negotiating skills, both verbal and written. Good grammar usage and persuasive skills. Excellent customer service skills required. Able to plan, prioritize and organize own work schedule and that of subordinates/sales force.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales or Business required.
7+ year's previous sales/marketing experience including actual field selling experience, preferably in an agricultural or industrial market, with increasing areas/levels of responsibility and proven success.
Previous supervisory and/or management experience required
Proven success in staff development and succession planning
Strong understanding or organizational goals and strategySuccessful experience in staff development and succession planning.
