As a Security Officer State Property in Willimantic, CT , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support access awareness through strong customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $20.51 / Hour

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and other security-related duties at a government location.

Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency services when appropriate.

Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or suspicious behavior.

Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verify identification and/or credentials as directed by site policies, and document observations, incidents, and daily activities in required reports.

Support emergency response activities by following post orders, providing direction to occupants and/or visitors, and assisting with controlled access, evacuations, and other security-related procedures as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.

A state, county, and/or city issued security-related license is preferred.

Comfort using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

CPR certification is preferred.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
