Medical Secretary / Patient Scheduler

Location: Reisterstown, MD 21136 (On-site)

Pay: $18-$19/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months)

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to join a high-volume, fast-paced physician practice. This is a great opportunity for someone with front desk or patient access experience who enjoys working directly with patients and being part of a collaborative healthcare team.

This position is a backfill role with an immediate need, offering the potential to convert to a permanent position with strong long-term stability and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule patient appointments and procedures

Answer and manage high-volume inbound phone calls

Complete insurance verification and prior authorizations

Greet patients and manage front desk operations

Enter and maintain accurate patient information in the system

Provide exceptional customer service to patients and providers

Support daily administrative needs of the practice

Required Qualifications

High school diploma required

1-3+ years of experience in a medical office setting (front desk, registration, scheduling, etc.)

EPIC EMR experience is required

Strong customer service and communication skills

Comfortable multitasking in a high-volume environment

Experience with insurance processes and authorizations

Work Environment

Busy, team-oriented medical practice

Fast-paced setting with high patient volume

Professional dress code (plain-colored scrubs required)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reisterstown, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
