Job Title: General Utility Worker
Job Description
The General Utility Worker serves as an entry-level production team member in a meat-processing environment, performing a variety of general labor tasks across multiple production areas. This role supports safe and efficient production by following all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining clean, sanitary, and organized work areas.
Responsibilities
Support production operations by following all policies and procedures related to meat processing, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations.
Maintain all production areas in clean and sanitary condition and promptly report any issues that could lead to unsanitary conditions.
Remove product and packing materials from the floor to keep work areas safe and organized.
Properly dispose of and track inedible products according to established procedures.
Separate and remove trash and recycling from production areas in a timely manner.
Stage production areas with empty containers and necessary supplies for the following shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in general labor, general production, packing, or food manufacturing environments is beneficial.
Experience in production roles with companies in the food industry is a plus.
Comfort working around moving mechanical parts and at high or elevated locations.
Ability to adapt to working in colder (around 30 degrees) and warmer temperature areas.
Comfort working in a high-noise manufacturing environment.
Willingness to learn basic equipment setup, disassembly, and adjustment procedures.
Openness to cross-training and assisting in multiple positions as needed.

Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing setting within a meat-processing facility. You will regularly work around moving mechanical parts and may occasionally work at high or elevated locations. The environment includes both colder areas, around 30 degrees, and warmer temperature zones, and the noise level is typically high. The role requires standing and walking constantly throughout the shift and frequently using hands and fingers to handle products, equipment, and materials. You will regularly reach with hands and arms, and may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to complete tasks. The work involves lifting and carrying at least 50 lbs and using both hands to perform manual tasks.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
