Job Description
The Manager IV of Budgets and Rates is a crucial role in the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) organization within Finance. This position will work closely with the Director of FP&A to develop and implement financial strategies, oversee indirect budgets and rate development, and provide financial guidance to senior management. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial information, managing financial risks, and contributing to the overall financial success of the organization.
The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.
What You ll Do:
Act as the primary financial advisor to the Strategic Capability Units (SCUs) Vice Presidents providing insights into operational performance, risks and opportunities.
Assist the Director of FP&A in developing and implementing financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the organization's financial objectives.
Oversee and manage the day-to-day Budgets and Rates team, including coordinating and collaborating with SMS Finance Directors and their teams to ensure effective staffing, risk resolution, risk mitigation and opportunities for improvement.
Partner across the SMS (Space and Mission Systems) sector to develop indirect budgets in alignment with the 5-year Integrated Business Plan (IBP).
Responsible for the development and application of the Forward Pricing Rate Proposal, including related audit support with DCMA and DCAA.
Work collaboratively with SCUs and SBUs to develop and monitor strategic investments aligned with company goals while ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.
Be responsible for bringing innovative solutions to streamline process, tools, and policies to enhance Finance efficiencies.
Lead the Strategic Rate Initiative aligning rate strategy with business strategy.
Be responsible for establishing Key Performance Metrics (KPIs) related to cost efficiency, productivity and profitability including optimizing the SMS Indirect Rate Structure.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information aligned with regulatory requirements by performing regular reviews and reconciliations.
Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance reports.
Prepare and/or present financial reports and presentations to executive management, senior management, and other stakeholders.
Lead the Intercompany Work Order (IWO) process for indirect synergy activities across BAE Systems Space and Mission Systems (SMS) legal entities.
Stay up to date with industry trends and changes in financial regulations and advise senior management on potential impacts and opportunities.
Provide leadership and guidance to finance team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Short Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor s degree in a related field plus 12 or more years related experience.
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
Previously leadership experience.
A minimum of 12 or more years of experience in finance roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership.
Excellent financial acumen and understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex financial issues.
Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis tools, as well as spreadsheets and financial management software.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people, cross-functional teams and senior management.
Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting.
Solid leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

A minimum of 12 or more years of experience in a government contracting environment with an understanding of the Aerospace business.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $157911 - $268449
